Set of five Oribe type stoneware dishes for
the tea ceremony (mukozuke) c1940-50's
Each signed in underglaze iron-oxide on the
underside in katakana, Ro and in Chinese characters Ro,
each with four loop feet
43/8 by 51/4in (11.3 by 13.5cm)
Wood storage box signed Ro and sealed Mukyo and
inscribed Oribe shiho mukozuke (Oribe square dish for
the tea ceremony), Rojin

Rosanjin was an individualist among Japanese potters.
Because of his genius, he ascended to the top ranks of
Japanese decorative tradition.
